Integrated Dishwashers

HEADING_TITLE

A dishwasher can be placed within a kitchen in a number of ways. For example, you can buy either a free standing dishwasher or an integrated dishwasher. Free standing dishwashers usually sit beneath a worktop where both of the sides and the top of the appliance are visible.

Integrated dishwashers on the other hand differ because they appear to be hidden by a furniture panel which matches the design of the kitchen. Integrated dishwashers are used in most modern kitchens due to their clean, aesthetic appearance.

There are three types of integrated dishwasher; fully-integrated, semi-integrated and in-column. All integrated dishwashers are positioned between other units or under a worktop. The sides and the top of all integrated dishwashers are not visible.

Fully integrated dishwashers are hidden behind a full height furniture panel and are operated by controls on the top edge of the dishwasher door, meaning that when the door of the machine is closed, no control panel is visible. Full size fully integrated dishwashers have a capacity of between 12-14 place settings.

Semi integrated dishwashing machines have a visible control panel which matches in height to surrounding drawer line furniture. A three-quarter length furniture door is affixed below the control panel. Semi integrated dishwashers have a capacity of between 12-14 place settings.

In addition, in-column dishwashers and Dish Drawers are recent members of the dishwasher family.

In-column dishwashers are integrated into a tall housing at chest height. They are easier to load and unload as they do not require you to bend down when you fill or empty a dishwasher. In-column dishwashers have a capacity up to 12 place settings.

A Dish Drawer is a dishwasher that is also integrated within a kitchen but differs in the way that it opens. As the name suggests, a Dish Drawer has draws that open and close. The use of draws makes this appliance very accessible as unlike other dishwashers, once you open the dishwasher door, you do not have to pull out a dishwasher tray. Dish Drawers have a capacity of up to twelve place settings. Some DishDrawers have two draws which can operate independently. This allows two wash loads to be conducted on different settings at the same time.

Please note that a dishwasher must sit near a water supply, a power point and waste pipe. Always have a professional, registered plumber fit a dishwasher. A dishwasher normally requires a 13amp output.
