Placing an order

Are all of the products that you sell new and safely packaged?

All of the products that Appliance World sells are boxed and brand new and are safely packaged. Before our products are put onto a delivery van, they are rigorously checked for damages to ensure that you receive your goods in perfect condition.
We occasionally sell showroom items at discount prices. These are marked SR and should include a note on the product page stating that it is a showroom model and as such may have minor blemishes. The customer is always informed when we are selling an appliance that has been used in our showroom.

Will I be charged the full amount for my goods in advance?

When a customer places an order with Appliance World, we normally charge them the full amount for their goods.
However, Appliance World also provides a service that lets you make a 10% deposit if necessary. An outstanding balance would have to be cleared before any goods are dispatched.

Do the prices of your products include VAT?

All of Appliance World’s prices include V.A.T which is charged at the rate prevailing at the time of dispatch.
Appliance World can refund VAT to customers who live outside of the UK. The goods must be shipped to their place of residence. In order for Appliance World to process a refund, a customer will need to provide proof that the goods have been shipped out of the UK

Is there a fee for the delivery of my goods?

Appliance World will deliver any order free of charge if it is over £250 and if the delivery address is within our transport area.
If you place an order under £250, there will be a £20 delivery fee. Local deliveries within 10 miles of Swindon are all free of charge.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to deliver to addresses outside of our delivery boundaries – please see our delivery page for more information.

How fast can you deliver my appliances?

Once your product has been ordered, Appliance World will endeavour to deliver your product within 10-14 days. If Appliance World has the item in stock, the estimated time of delivery is seven days and is often much earlier.
Nearly all of Appliance World’s deliveries are made between 7am and 1pm unless otherwise stated.

Do you deliver on a Saturday?

Unfortunately Appliance World is unable to deliver on a Saturday at this time.

Does the delivery address have to be the cardholder’s billing address?

For your own protection, Appliance World generally delivers to the address of the credit card holder.
If there is a genuine reason for delivering to a different address, please advise us in writing and contact our customer service department on 01793 618656 or e-mail service@appliance-world.co.uk
It is important that you inform your credit card company that you are ordering goods to a different address than the invoice address.

Can I specify a delivery date?

As deliveries are made by our own Logistics team, certain locations are allocated to certain days of the week. For this reason, our customers cannot specify a delivery day but we will always arrange a date that is suitable for our customers.

Can I change a delivery date?

Of course you can. For whatever reason, if you would like to change your delivery date, please speak to our customer service department on 01793 618656 or e-mail service@appliance-world.co.uk
We ask for 48 hours notice prior to the original delivery date.

Can I delay my delivery?

Appliance World allows its customers to store goods in their warehouse for up to four weeks. If you would like to store your goods for a period of time that exceeds four weeks, please speak to our customer service department on 01793 618656 or e-mail service@appliance-world.co.uk

If I order more than one item, will they be delivered at the same time?

If you place an order for several items with Appliance World, we will endeavour to deliver all of your appliances at the same time unless you ask otherwise.

How do you make sure my transaction is safe?

Appliance World uses Sage Pay to conduct their Secure Payment processing. Sage Pay are one of the largest Payment Gateway companies in the UK and also provide security services to brands such as Easy Jet, Love Film.com and Browns.
Credit/Debit card details that are processed are scrambled after use. This data is not retained.
Rest assured that when you place a transaction with Appliance World, your details are processed under the most meticulous security standards.

Do you deliver outside of the UK?

Unfortunately, Appliance World does not deliver appliances outside of the UK.
However, we will deliver goods to a shipping company of your choice. Once the goods have been delivered to a shipping company it is the customer’s responsibility to make further arrangements.
Appliance World can refund VAT to customers who live outside of the UK. The goods must be shipped to their place of residence. In order for Appliance World to process a refund, a customer will need to provide proof that the goods have been shipped out of the UK.

Receiving My Delivery

How do I find out when my appliance will be delivered?

Once you have placed your order with Appliance World, we will attempt to arrange a delivery date with you as soon as possible.
If we have to order an appliance from a manufacturer for you, it will take them approximately 5-7 days to deliver it to Appliance World. We will keep you updated on when we will receive the product and then arrange to deliver it to you immediately.
If Appliance World has the item you ordered in stock, we will attempt to arrange a delivery date much faster.
Appliance World will always keep you notified and will work with you to arrange a suitable delivery date.

How will my appliance be delivered?

Deliveries by Appliance World will be made by one deliveryman and your goods will be delivered inside your home as long as there is reasonable access.

Will you deliver my appliance up or down flights of stairs?

Due to health and safety and insurance reasons, Appliance World’s deliverymen are not able to deliver your appliance up or down flights of stairs. Deliveries will be made to the ground level of an address.
Please inform us of any difficulties that may be encountered during a delivery.

Will a member of your delivery team wait whilst I unpack my appliance?

Unfortunately, due to time considerations, Appliance World’s deliverymen are not able to wait whilst you unpack your appliance. Many of our customers order 5 or more products and if our deliverymen were to wait for the packaging to be removed, it would affect their ability to deliver to other customers.
Further, appliances are not always installed on the day of the delivery and the removal of packaging can put an appliance at risk of being damaged.
Please also note that when you receive your goods and sign for them, you are signing for the receipt of the machine and that you agree that the packaging is in a reasonable condition. You have 7 days from the day of the delivery to unpack your goods and check that they are in good condition.
Although Appliance World’s deliverymen are not able to wait for you to unpack your packaging, they are always more than happy to assist you in any other way. Just go to our Testimonials page and see for yourself.

Do you take old machines away?

Appliance World is able to dispose of your old appliance for a charge of £14. The collection can be made at the time of delivery of your new appliance – please call our Sales team on 01793 618656 or e-mail sales@appliance-world.co.uk to request the collection. Appliances must be disconnected and outside of your property on the day of the collection.
Appliance World is unfortunately unable to collect refrigeration appliances at the present time.

What should I do if I have a problem after my goods have been delivered?

If you have a problem with any of your goods after they have been delivered, please contact out customer service line on 01793 618656 or e-mail service@appliance-world.co.uk and we will do everything in our power to resolve the problem for you.
Appliance World is fully committed to their after sales service and we are always willing to help.

What is your returns policy?

If you would like to cancel your order, please call our customer service line on 01793 618656 and we will do all that we can to help.
As one of Appliance World’s customers, you are able to cancel your order within seven working days starting the day after you receive your delivery. Please note that if you do wish to return your goods, they must be returned in or with their original packaging and condition.

How long will it take for a refund to be credited into my account?

Appliance World will always endeavour to process a refund into your account immediately. However, please note that it may take financial institutions between 3-5 working days to process the funds.

What is your response time to email enquiries?

We aim to respond to all emails from our Customers within 1 working day.
In a very unlikely case your email has not been responded to, please call our customer service department on 01793 618656

What do you do with my personal information?

Customers’ personal information is kept on an internal database and is used only for the purpose of a sale. Appliance World does not make this information available to third parties or to make cold calls.
Credit/Debit card details that are processed are scrambled after use. Such data is not retained.

How do I make the most out of my warranty?

All of the products that Appliance World sell have at least a one year warranty but many manufacturers will offer you the opportunity to extend a warranty free of charge, subject to registration.
